Peace from God

The World defines peace as the absence of trouble.

God defines peace differently.

Peace from God is a peace amidst trouble, even the heaviest troubles—a peace that transcends all understanding.

“I bless God every chance I get; my lungs expand with his praise. I live and breathe God; if things aren’t going well, hear this and be happy:

Join me in spreading the news; together let’s get the word out.” ~ Psalms 34:1-3 (MSG)

David encourages us above that peace is possible even “if things aren’t going well”.

God’s loyal love couldn’t have run out, his merciful love couldn’t have dried up. They’re created new every morning. How great your faithfulness. I’m sticking with God (I say it over and over). He’s all I’ve got left.” ~ Lamentations 3:22-24 (MSG)

Jeremiah‘s life was hard with exceptionally heavy burdens but he wasn’t crushed under the weight. Instead he finds gratefulness, joy, and peace amidst trouble because he knew reality—the reality of God.

Jesus promised us this exact phenomenon before He accomplished His mission on earth:

"I'm telling you these things while I'm still living with you.
The Friend, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send at my request, will make everything plain to you. He will remind you of all the things I have told you.
I'm leaving you well and whole. That's my parting gift to you. Peace. I don't leave you the way you're used to being left - feeling abandoned, bereft. So don't be upset. Don't be distraught” ~ John 14:25-27 (MSG)

Safety is not the absence of danger,
It is the nearness of God.
But He can’t be near if we don’t go towards Him and follow.
We can only do this through what Jesus has done for us, defining and making it plain what it means and what it looks like to follow God’s commands and walk together with Him, just like our ancestors did in ancient days, in the garden before the fall.

Jesus told us how hard life would be on earth. Neither He as God nor any biblical figure ever even remotely implied that life is easy on earth and that God would solve our problems in a way that takes away burdens and pains.

God says:

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” ~ John 16:33 (NIV)

We WILL have trouble. But God already won.

Following Christ still means following the Law of God

Jesus told us:

“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.” ~ Matthew 5:17 (NIV)

God told us:

“Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.” ~ Joshua 1:8 (NIV)

It’s very simple.

All excuses and lies that contradict this are from the father of lies.

They don’t belong to God.

They harm the world by causing people to be confused. They take advantage of human’s tendency to sin and our love for sin.

I really hope more and more self-proclaimed Christians wake up and stop making excuses to live in sin.

I say this because I was definitely doing this—believing that I knew God well yet did not pursue sanctification with the highest effort I can give.

Having experienced the difference, I now wish that others could experience the same overflowing abundance and peace, not in the way the world defines them, but in the way our Creator defines them, which aligns with our original design as humans.

The difference, if I had to describe it simply, is this: you will finally see God—see Him working all the time, everywhere.

You will literally wake up.

This spiritual awakening awaits anyone who pursues sanctification.

What is God’s Law Summarized for Today?

1. Moses’s Law

Torah — the five books Moses wrote (Genesis through Deuteronomy) weren’t just religious rules; they were the foundation of Israel’s national, moral, and spiritual identity.

Moses’s Law summarized:

1. Love and loyalty to God alone — no idols, no divided hearts. (Deut. 6:4–5)

2. Justice and compassion — care for the poor, widows, orphans, and foreigners. (Deut. 10:18–19)

3. Personal holiness — purity, honesty, and integrity in work and relationships. (Lev. 19)

4. Sabbath rest — honoring rhythms of work, rest, and worship. (Ex. 20:8–11)

5. Community responsibility — fairness in trade, land, and justice. (Deut. 16:18–20)

6. Remembrance and gratitude — regular feasts and offerings to remember God’s deliverance. (Deut. 8:10–18)

The heart of Moses’s Law wasn’t legalism — it was covenant faithfulness. God was shaping a people who reflected His character in how they lived, worked, and treated others.

2. How it Applies in Modern Times

The literal system of sacrifices and rituals ended when Christ fulfilled the Law (Matthew 5:17), but the moral and spiritual intent remains deeply relevant today.

Here’s how this translates into our times so we can apply it:

Loyalty to God

  • Stay centered on eternal truth amid digital noise, ideologies, and self-worship. Don’t let technology, success, or culture become idols.

Justice and Compassion

  • Stand up for fairness, care for the vulnerable, and build workplaces and families that value mercy over ego.

Personal Holiness

  • Live with integrity online and offline — purity in thought, speech, and conduct.

Sabbath Rest

  • Guard real rest: disconnect, reflect, restore. Busyness is not holiness.

Community Responsibility

  • Build systems and teams that uplift others, not exploit them. Lead with fairness and stewardship.

Remembrance and Gratitude

  • Practice gratitude daily. Remember how far God has carried us, even in a fast, uncertain world.

3. The Timeless Principle

Joshua 1 teaches that God’s favor follows obedience, not ambition.

In today’s modern times, when everything feels chaotic — AI, work, family, deterioration of values — God still blesses those who walk in alignment with His moral law: humility, integrity, justice, mercy, and love.

“Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” ~ Joshua 1:8-9 (NIV)
